Squad members Olivia, Jonah and Seb travelled to the Netherlands in early March to represent England at Interland 2025. The Interland Cup is England’s only international competition outside the British Isles. England competes annually in this six-cornered match against two Belgian teams (Flemish and French speaking), the Netherlands, the French Ligue des Hauts de France de Course d’Orientation (LHFCO) and Luxembourg.
The event started with a warm and sunny training day followed by a foggy, cold race morning that cleared up as the competition went on, with England retaining their title.

Last weekend, I had the amazing experience of representing England at the Interland Cup for the first time. It was such an exciting trip, and I’ll never forget it!
We had a really long nine-hour drive to get there, which was pretty tiring, but I was looking forward to the race. The training day was great – it was warm and sunny, and the terrain felt a lot like England, just much, much flatter. It was fun getting used to it and practicing with the team.
Race day started off really cold and foggy, which made it a bit harder to see in the forest. Luckily, the fog lifted as the morning went on, and the conditions got better. I had a fast start and managed to keep up the pace. Towards the end, I started feeling tired on the endless sandy tracks, but I held on and finished in 3rd place – the best result for England in the M14 category! I was really happy with my run and proud to have done well for the team and contributed to our overall win!
After the race, we had another long nine-hour drive home, which felt even more exhausting than the way there. But I didn’t mind too much because I was still buzzing from the race. It was such an incredible experience, and I can’t wait for more opportunities to represent England in the future!
