HAWKSHEAD

Every November the Junior Regional Orienteering Squads (JROS) organise a weekend of training for 15 and 16 year olds in the Lake District. It is usually on the last weekend in November. We stay at Hawkshead Youth Hostel. Food and bed inclusive. Cost usually £85 each. This weekend is open to selected M/W16s. Participants will be selected subject to their commitment to squad training sessions, orienteering events and performance. We will leave on Friday afternoon and return on Sunday afternoon having trained on three different areas and taken part in a sprint night race on Saturday night after dinner.

Over the years we have trained on may different areas, including Bishops Wood, Holme Fell, Dale Park, Esthwaite Intake, Great Tower, Tarn Howes, Summerhouse Knott, Haverthwaite Heights and Colonels Drive.
